Unwanted Pregnancy
Unwanted pregnancy is a tough experience in a girl's life. Why? Because, even if you didn't plan to have a baby, it is hard to take a decision regarding what you are going to do next. Are you going to keep the baby? Or are you going to abort it? There is no girl or woman, who doesn't feel heartache when she has to deal with such a situation.
Can I keep the secret?
The problem does not reside only in the difficulty of the decision. To keep the secret is quite complicated. It is harder when you are young. If you decide to abort, you have a few chances left, but if not, people will know too much about your private life. If you're a strong and self- confident person, you can get over the gossip and the fact that people judge you. If not, these problems will touch you.
Some parents understand their daughter and help her; others make her life, a hell. If the girl is early in her teens, it is most likely that her parents will chide her and impose constraints, the doctors will make acid remarks and she will have all the reasons to feel ashamed of her mistake.
In the case of an abortion, the doctor is not bound to keep the secret if the girl is too young, as her parents are made responsible of her acts. Willy-nilly, the girl will lay her carelessness on her parents' head. It is up to the doctor's will if he tells the secret or not, but usually, he will decide to tell it, because it is likely that the girl hasn't received a proper sexual education and it is for this reason that she became pregnant too early.
Emotional problems
To abort or to keep the baby are two decisions that have a lifelong impact. Abortion makes some women feel released of all the problems and troubles brought about by the birth of an unwanted child. But the decision to get rid of a human being, who is growing in her own body is very difficult for a woman; especially because she has the maternal instinct deep in her heart. Many women feel guilty after the abortion procedure and have regret for the decision they made. They frequently go through hard times of depression and emotional disorder, which require psychological therapy. They repent even more when they discover that because of the complications they have problems or cannot have babies anymore even if they want to.
How does the unwanted pregnancy occur? Misfortune, carelessness or sexual abuse. These are the major causes of unwanted pregnancy. Sexual abuses are a reality. Both girls and boys are victims of such an abuse. Unwanted pregnancies, sexual transmitted diseases and deep psychological traumas are the results of sexual abuse.
Unwanted pregnancy brings sometimes an unwanted child. The child is the one that suffers the most and he isn't supposed to be guilty at all. He will be obsessed all his life by the thought that his mother didn't want him, because even if nobody will tell him, he will certainly feel it.
