Signs of Pregnancy

If your period is late, your breasts are starting to grow, you have a metallic taste in your mouth and you feel tired and sleepy all day long….don't panic! You'd better buy a home pregnancy test and breathe deeply. This could be an important moment in your life.

About pregnancy

Women and especially the ones who have recently begun their sexual lives are frequently asking these questions: Am I pregnant? What are the signs of pregnancy? How can I know if I'm pregnant or not? Of course, pregnancy symptoms are different from woman to woman, depending on many characteristics. Understanding the signs and symptoms of pregnancy is very important, because every symptom may be also related to a certain disease or disorder. Some women can have few symptoms of pregnancy even a week after intercourse. Other women get through pregnancy having only some insignificant signs and symptoms. There are many things you can do in order to diminish the effects these symptoms have on you; many of them will disappear in the beginning of the second semester of pregnancy. It is most likely that you won't feel any symptom of pregnancy before your period delays. The pregnancy test and your gynecologist will tell you if you're pregnant or not.

General signs of pregnancy

One or more of the following changes can indicate pregnancy. In the beginning, you might not identify any of them, but your instinct will tell you if you're pregnant or not, because you will feel different. Not getting your period is one of the signs, but if your menstrual cycles are irregular or if you are ill, nervous and depressed, missing your period does not necessarily represent a sign of pregnancy. If your breasts have grown in size, become sensitive and sometimes a slight itchy feeling appears, then it might be a sign of pregnancy. You will feel a strange metallic taste in your mouth. You will feel very tired not only in the evening but also during the day. Languor and dizziness will occur. Your vaginal discharge will increase. You will have nausea and sometimes eructation which can appear anytime during the day. You will dislike some odors, foods, alcohol and smoke. You will have an unusual appetite and greed for delicacies. Emotional changes will occur due to hormonal changes. In addition, you will feel the need to urinate frequently. However, the above signs do not necessarily mean that you are pregnant.

To be sure, go to the pharmacy and buy a home pregnancy test. Be careful though because the test is sometimes wrong, but this happens very seldom. Afterwards, I would recommend you to have a gynecological exam in order to know for sure if you are pregnant or not.

If you've decided to have a baby, make sure that your lifestyle does not imply factors which may harm the child's development. All the vital organs develop in the first three months of intrauterine life, so these are the moments when his health may be easily threatened.
